FRIENDS OF RINGETTE SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

 

PURPOSE

The Friends of Ringette Society offers an exceptional scholarship program designed to encourage and support excellence in academics and ringette. The program is available to individuals who are full time students at recognized post secondary institutions and are also members of competitive ringette teams hosted by those institutions.

Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing, excellence in their sport, leadership qualities, demonstrated commitment to the team and contributions to the growth of the sport of ringette.

 

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to apply for a Friends of Ringette Society scholarship, the following conditions must be met:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in full time studies in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, during the current academic year, at a recognized post secondary institution.

  • Applicants must be members of a competitive post secondary ringette team, during the current year, which is hosted by a recognized post secondary institution.

  • Applicants must have attained superior academic achievement during the current academic year, based on full time studies.

 

DEFINITIONS

Superior Academic Achievement means a grade point average of 2.8 or higher on the four-point scale. For post secondary institutions not utilizing the four-point scale, Superior Academic Achievement will be equated to a 2.8 or higher grade point average.

Full Time Studies means the definition of this term as set down by the particular post secondary institution being attended by the applicant.

Recognized Post Secondary Institutions are: NAIT, Grant MacEwan College and the University of Alberta.
